Sahten Account & Data Deletion
App: Sahten - Recipe Master (com.sahten.app)
Developer: the Sahten team
Effective date: 3 June 2026
Contact: support@sahten.app
This page explains how to permanently delete your Sahten account and the data tied to it. You can delete your account directly inside the app, or - if you cannot access the app - by emailing us.
1. Delete your account inside the app (recommended)
- Open Sahten and sign in with the Google account that is linked to your Sahten profile.
- Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Profile screen.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation dialog and tap Delete account again to confirm.
Your account and the server-side data tied to it are deleted immediately. The app signs you out and clears any local data linked to that account from the device.
Cancel your subscription first. If you have an active Sahten Pro subscription, cancel it through Google Play (Play Store -> Profile -> Payments & subscriptions -> Subscriptions) before deleting your account. Deleting the Sahten account does not cancel the Google Play billing agreement, which is held by Google.
2. Delete your account by email (if you cannot access the app)
If you have lost access to your Google account, uninstalled the app, or otherwise cannot reach the in-app option, email support@sahten.app from the email address linked to your Sahten profile, with the subject line "Delete my Sahten account".
We will process the deletion within 30 days and send a confirmation when it is complete.
3. What data is deleted
The following are deleted permanently and immediately when you confirm account deletion (or within 30 days for email requests):
- Your Sahten authentication record (Google sign-in link to Sahten).
- Your account profile in our database (email, display name, internal user ID, account creation date).
- Your AI usage counters (chat messages used, recipes generated, period totals).
- Your subscription record on our subscription provider (RevenueCat).
- Any recipes and meal plans backed up to our cloud (for Pro subscribers).
- Local data on the device tied to that account (your recipes, meal plans, shopping list, and AI chat history) once the deletion call returns.
4. What data is retained, and why
- Google Play billing records - held by Google, not by us, for legal and tax compliance (typically 7 years). Cancel your subscription via Google Play before deleting your account if you do not want to be charged again.
- Anonymous, aggregated server logs - automatically purged within 30 days by our backend provider. After your account is deleted, these contain no information that can be linked back to you.
- AI prompts sent to Google Gemini - retained by Google for up to 55 days for abuse monitoring, then automatically deleted by Google. Because we use the paid Gemini API tier, Google does not use your prompts to train its models.
5. Data that was never on our servers
Some data lives only on your device and is never uploaded to our servers. There is nothing for us to delete on the server side, but it is removed from the device when you delete your account or uninstall the app:
- Saved recipes and meal plans if you are on the free plan (Pro subscribers' recipes and meal plans are backed up to our cloud and are deleted as described in section 3).
- Your shopping list and local AI chat history.
- App preferences (theme, language, profile photo path).
6. Account deletion is irreversible
Once confirmed, account deletion cannot be undone. If you sign in again with the same Google account afterwards, a brand-new Sahten account is created with no link to the deleted one. Your subscription, usage history, and any cloud-saved data from the deleted account cannot be recovered.
